The University of Alberta Collegiate 4-H Club was established in 2010 by a group of Alberta 4-H alumni looking for a continuation of 4-H community and values. The club is registered with 4-H Alberta, receives support and funding, and collaborates on events. The club is Agriculture based as is traditional 4-H, but projects focus both on Agriculture and Education. Projects are student led without the record keeping of youth 4-H. In the past we have helped out with Farm Fair international, club and districts public speaking, Heifer In Your Tank, Farm and Ranch show, as well as hosting our annual “4-H day on campus”. We strive to bridge the transition from youth 4-H to university life by providing this club as a means to socialize. We support high school students curious about further education, first year university students, and involve existing students and grad students. Several members have had opportunities to be 4-H ambassadors, key members, 4-H council members, and attended leader conferences. We support further education of our members through conferences, workshops and camps.
